Mazda service

The birds are chirping, and the flowers are blooming. You know what that means? Spring is upon us! Make sure you complete these Mazda service tasks at Cook Mazda to get your car spring-ready.

Check Your Cooling System

After a cold winter, it’s always a good idea to make sure that your cooling system is still up for cooling you down once it gets warm out. It’s important to have your air conditioner serviced at least once a year, although twice is typically best.

You want to check it each spring to make sure it’s ready for the hot summer and once the summer is over to make sure no damage was done.

Inspect Your Tires

How did your tires hold up over the winter? Do you still have adequate tread to give you traction on wet roads? You want to make sure your tires have at least 4/32” of tread to stay in control on any terrain. Now is a great time to have your tires inspected.

You also want to rotate your tires to help avoid uneven wear, which can leave your tires prone to going flat.

Top Off Your Fluids

The changing seasons also serve as a great reminder to change the fluids under your hood. There are a variety of fluids that help keep your vehicle running efficiently. Keep in mind, not all fluids can simply be topped off. Over time, they can become too thick, losing their efficiency.

Check your owner’s manual to see the recommended schedule for changing the following fluids:

  • Engine oil
  • Transmission fluid
  • Coolant
  • Brake fluid
  • Power steering fluid
  • Windshield wiper fluid
